"As far as the customer is concerned, the interface is the product", Seriously?

Well, I was reading about The Humane Interface: New Directions for Designing Interactive Systems and I couldn't get convinced with “As far as the customer is concerned, the interface is the product.” thus the birth of my blog.

Agreed, interface gives the facelift for the product and monotony of design would be boring for a customer. The core functionality and value addition to the customer drives the success of a Product more than its prettiness.

When the core business functionality is right, simpler interface, intuitive navigation, interactive guidance and valuing customer’s time with the balance of a pretty interface will cherish a product.

Though it is very important to exhibit the dining room sparkling, it is too critical keep the kitchen clean. Remember there is always an another dinner needs served and you may not have the luxury to clean the kitchen before next meal.
